More About Me

These three actions, combined with my passion for all-things music, is the sweet-spot of where I am able to bring more music, to more people and ultimately increase the value of a product or service. Several years ago I walked into a dank and dusty building that was originally built in the 1920's as a silent movie theatre, located in a now underserved neighborhood of Berkeley, California. The space was clearly well beyond it's glory days. With no money, but lots of vision and the three key tools of marketing, promotion and public relations, I was able to change that humble barn-like space into an internationally recognized venue for music, arts, and youth. It wasn't easy, and I didn't do it alone as it takes a quality team to make any project "go". But with being a musician myself and executing the marketing skills defined above, I was able to get more people involved in music … more people hearing music … and ultimately more people enjoying music. I enjoy a progressive, positive environment, where new ideas and processes are explored. Quite frankly, I despise the mindset of "That's just the way we've always done it". Change and innovation is key to any new or existing process. I enjoy writing and I have had numerous opportunities to do so professionally in publications such as Hi-Fructose contemporary art magazine, and more local endeavors with the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music. When not writing, I enjoy playing and listening to music, stone carving, and the occasional round of golf. Drop me a note anytime. I'd love to hear from you. robwoodworth@gmail.com 415-846-9432
